PVC is specially used for pipe fitting molding, for PVC molding it is not as common plastic molding, like PP, PE, ABS, molding. For PVC, as it has some corrosion and very sensitive to temperature, so for PVC molding has special demands on injection molding machine.
PVC molding cannot with hot runner, for injection molding machine, it is designed special for PVC, such as its screw and barrel, and they are all stainless and anti-corrosion. For PVC molding, there are fans on machine to keep the temperature. On the other hand, for machine size, as the mould always with hydraulic cylinder,PVC molding machine always have big size door.
As PVC only can molded with cold runner, so the waste of the tail cannot avoid, and most of them will mold of edge gate, it will need labor to cut the tail, of course, there is a solution to save the labor for cut the tail, that is to make the mould with submarine gate, but not all of the mould can do like this, it depends on product.

There are two cases of over molding injection. First is simple insert over molding injection. We put some inserts in the mold before injection, and then we injection. These inserts will be an integral part of the plastic product. This is often used for produce products like cable box with metal screw. For this way over molding injection machine, standard injection machine is needed.
Another case is that first injection one part of our product. Then put this part into another mold and injection again to get the first part covered by another part. This over molding injection is often used to produce two color products, such as two color cups, two color helmet, car lamp, etc. and two plastic material products, such as TPE over molding injection.
Two kinds of injection machines are suitable for this way of over molding injection machine. One is standard injection machine. We get first part injected in one mold on one machine and move this part to a second mold on another machine. Another kind is dual color injection machine. The kind of inject machine has a rotary plate, two screw and two barrel. We can put two molds on one machine together. After the machine inject for first part, the plate will rotate and inject the second part. Dual color injection is not only suitable for two color product, but also for two different plastic material products.

Compared to normal size plastic part, plastic big part molding has more considering factors. Then how to realize automatically molding? How to have the suitable factory layout of manufacturing?
As we know manufacturing plastic big part needs large injection molding machine, it requires certain dimension of molding factory.
For example, DKM 1080T injection molding machine, the height of factory should be at least 12meters. If you want to realize automatically manufacturing without opening injection machine safety door, thus it needs to raise machine chassis. Check below machine picture. You can see the machine chassis is much higher than normal one. After demoulding, plastic part will automatic fall down, then transported by conveyor belt.
If your factory height is limited, there is a second solution to fully automatically manufacturing big part. Dig a hole into the ground, when install the machine, it will sink into the hole, so that the height can be reduced effectively. Check below machine picture.
